The Aegir Hosting System for Drupal has been around for quite a long time, yet has more momentum now than ever.
For those that don't know, Aegir is basically Drupal Hosting, powered by Drupal. It's a Drupal site that creates other Drupal sites. Fun!
Last summer, the maintainers formed the Aegir Cooperative to provide support and drive development forward.
Since then, momentum on the project has increased significantly.
This presentation will give an overview of the State of Aegir: the code, the community, and the Cooperative.
We will also give a quick demo on how to get Aegir running locally so you can help contribute to it!
Recent Developments:
- Aegir on Docker: Docker containers for Aegir. Easiest way to run Aegir yet.
- Aegir on Travis: Automated testing of Aegir itself.
- Aegir Development Environment: Easier than ever to contribute to Aegir.
- Aegir Ansible: Manage your aegir servers with Ansible.
- Aegir Cloud: Create new servers from cloud providers.
- Let's Encrypt: Automated SSL
- Aegir Drupal 8 Config Management: Click to import and export configuration.
- Aegir Reporting: Get details on the status of hosted sites like security, users, and best practices.
- OpenDevShop: Git & Project based hosting and continuous integration.
