Git Large File Storage (LFS) replaces large files such as audio samples, videos, datasets, and graphics with text pointers inside Git, while storing the file contents on a remote server.
Git LFS is an open source project. It is supported by GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab and can be self-hosted as well.
In this session we will go over use cases for Git LFS and see how it can transform your team's approach to managing large assets, like:
- Large image, audio and video assets
- Documents in binary format (office files, pdf, etc.)
- External dependencies and artifacts
- Database dumps and more
