Large File Storage with git

Git Large File Storage (LFS) replaces large files such as audio samples, videos, datasets, and graphics with text pointers inside Git, while storing the file contents on a remote server.

Git LFS is an open source project. It is supported by GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab and can be self-hosted as well.

In this session we will go over use cases for Git LFS and see how it can transform your team's approach to managing large assets, like:

  • Large image, audio and video assets
  • Documents in binary format (office files, pdf, etc.)
  • External dependencies and artifacts
  • Database dumps and more
